smoussen está en el buen camino
Pues una nueva raza de roombas acecha con desbancar a mi querida 581 con 5 Lighthouses tuneados disponible a partir de primavera 2011 y yo sin enterarme, parece ser que incorporan algunas novedades interesantes:

• Newly refined, sleeker design.
• Intelligently navigates the room using iAdapt Responsive
Cleaning Technology, an advanced system of software and
sensors that actively responds to the environment to make
smart cleaning decisions.
• AeroVac™ Series 2 bin with a powerful vacuum maximizes air
flow through Roomba’s cleaning head to pull more hair and
debris off the brushes and into the bin.
• HEPA-type air filters keep fine household dust from
re-circulating into your home.
• Specially designed Soft-Touch Bumper polymer coating to
protect walls and furniture.
• Battery has 50 percent longer life than previous Roomba
generations.
• Dirt Detect Series 2 (available on Roomba 770 and 780)
uses an acoustic sensor to detect excessive amounts of
small and hard debris, such as sand, and an optical sensor
to detect larger and soft debris, such as popcorn. Dirt Detect
Series 1, which uses the acoustic sensor, is available on the
Roomba 760.
• Persistent Pass Cleaning Pattern uses a back and forth motion
to focus cleaning in dirtier areas.
• Full Bin Indicator light turns on when Roomba’s optical sensor
detects a full dust bin (Roomba 770 and 780).
• Capacitive sensor touchpad as the user interface to eliminate
mechanical buttons (Roomba 780).
• Cliff-sensor technology keeps iRobot Roomba from falling
down stairs and other vertical drops.

La batería dura el 50% mas pero ¿Continuará utilizando la tecnologia Lighthouse?, servirán las unidades de la serie 500 en su caso?.....
