Paint.NET 2.6 beta 2 es un software de manipulación de imágenes con el que Microsoft pretende sustituir al vetusto Paint, que viene en todos los Windows.

Paint.NET puede ser empleado bajo sistemas Windows XP o 2000 y está siendo desarrollado por la Universidad estatal de Washington con ayuda adicional de Microsoft.

El software está programado en C#, con extensiones GDI+, y dispone de avanzadas funcionalidades que incluso le permite el soporte de capas.
